CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT:

Generate Additional Profits From Each Customer Transaction!

You may have heard about one of the features of RetailDNA's Point of Marketing (POM), which we call the Visual Deal. This application has been proven to increase same store sales by 3% (or more) and bottom line profits by 10%.

DUMAC Business Systems is a leading Panasonic Master Reseller. Working alongside RetailDNA, we are introducing an exciting offer. You can purchase a new Panasonic POS system, or upgrade your existing system, for little or nothing down. A share of the additional revenue the Visual Deal generates is used to pay for the system! You get a system that literally pays for itself!

WendPartners Extends DUMAC's Point-of-Sale Systems Nationwide

When Jeffrey Coghlan of WendPartners, one of Wendy's largest franchise groups, and Dumac's Howard McCarthy shook hands in an Elmira, NY, coffee shop one morning in 1989, neither grasped the signifi-cance. Soon, that handshake would be repeated in hundreds of restaurants throughout the country.

At the time, Coghlan was a principal in a single Upstate New York Wendy's franchise consisting of eight restaurants, none equipped with a Dumac busi-ness system. During the next 12 years, WendPartners exploded into 39 franchises with 225 restaurants nationwide. Dumac's Panasonic Point-of-Sale systems are in almost every one of them.

Table Service

Digital Dining (Menusoft) has recently announced the release of several new features for their system. In some cases, these are options. For additional information, contact either your salesper-son at Dumac, or Steve VanVlack at (800) 878-4531 ext. 155.

Table Management Module (Optional)

Turn tables faster and manage customer service at a glance with Digital Dining's Table Management Module! A graphical table display with "drag and drop" features allows you to quickly move and combine tables. Providing time-critical information on table status - when an action has not occurred within the specified time, an alarm is sent that causes the table icon to flash at the POS. For example, if a check is open and no beverages are added to the check within five minutes an alarm can be sent. If there is still no beverage after eight minutes a second alarm can be sent. Extensive reporting in the module allows you to evaluate server performance, average table turn times, and much more

Graphical Split Check

Graphical drag and drop alternative method for splitting guest checks. Simply highlight the menu items you want to move by touching them and then touch the check you want the items to be moved to, and they will appear on the new check.

"Item Out" Alternative Suggestion

Now when a "sold out" menu item is selected at the POS, Digital Dining can make an alternative menu suggestion and provide a prompt with a "Yes" or "No" message box. When "Yes" is selected the alternate menu item will be ordered. This feature aids the serv-er in making an appropriate alternate suggestion and encourages quality customer service.

Gift Card Module (Optional)

Complete Gift Card integration is here. Use debit card-style cards instead of paper gift certificates. Complete reporting at any time to tell you how many dollars in credit have yet to be redeemed (liability). Use part of a large Gift Card, and the system will track the remaining balance until it reaches $0.

Hand-Held POS (Optional)

At the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago in May, Digital Dining announced the first prototype of a Hand-Held POS device! This will be a great benefit to restaurants, especially those with outdoor patios or busy cocktail lounges. We'll keep you posted!

Quick Service

Dumac Reporter Suite

Dumac currently has our Dumac Reporter Suite application installed in several additional "pilot" sites (including All Seasons, WendPartners, and Wend Management). All of the original development was centered on Windows NT 4.0 Server and SQL 7. As we install each new site, new "challenges" are encountered with the Windows 2000 operating system, SQL 2000, and network issues (to name a few). All of our installations are slightly differ-ent from each other and are being used differently, which is good, since we want the software to be used in as broad a fashion as possible.

Self-CheckoutDumac University (Dumac U)

Dumac University had its first advanced curriculum classes in September. WendPartners, Wendover, and Wend Management all participated in the Corporate Reporter Suite and Report Builder classes. The curriculum covered three very intense days. The curriculum can be reviewed on our website, along with a schedule for upcoming classes if you are interested.

The Visual Deal™

One of the most exciting opportunities for Quick Service Restaurants is a product called the Visual Deal™ offered by RetailDNA. This is available for both Panasonic 7500 and POWER 9000 users. This is currently installed in some of the following franchisees - Arby's, Burger King, Church's, KFC, Popeye's, Taco Bell, and Wendy's. This application runs with the Panasonic 7500 or POWER application.

Essentially, the Visual Deal™ can allow you to generate incremental revenues and profits from your existing customer base with virtually no additional labor or impact on speed of service. After the customer places an order, the software automatically analyzes the product mix of the order and total dollar amount. Then, prior to closing the transaction, it prompts the cashier via the POS terminal to offer a customized "deal" for a complimentary food item below its menu price in lieu of the consumer's change.

The stores that have implemented this program have had sales increases ranging from 3 to 5 percent and have improved the bottom-line profit!

If you would like a complete (free, no obligation) information packet on the Visual Deal™, contact Howard McCarthy at (800) 878-4531 ext. 128.
