Let's say you have your DUMAC Deli Kiosks installed in all your stores. It may seem a daunting task to update all those POS units across multiple store zones and keep up the pricing of each item available. With DUMAC's e-Manager and CorpPOS software you can stop wondering and start doing!

DUMAC makes it easy for your corporate headquarters to update and maintain each and every kiosk... automatically! With DUMAC's suite of software products you can send updated prices, updated layouts and graphics and other information to each of your stand-alone terminals. You can make each kiosk exactly the same or have each terminal have its own individual pricing adjustments... it's totally up to you.

Updating your Deli Kiosk is a simple 3-step process:

Delivery Setup at the CorpPOS Level

Back to Top of Page

At the corporate level you can prepare your update using CorpPOS's simple step-by-step instruction wizard. Using the wizard, you set up what is called a Delivery. You can set up various delivery instructions and definitions for your updates to follow once they reach the Deli Kiosk terminal.

For example, you can set up the day for the process to begin.

You can also enter your return-receipt e-mail address for confirmation and verification of the updates once they have been applied.

Update files may include DUMAC Reporter Suite files, Inventory Changes, Pricing updates and others.

Select who and where the Delivery will be sent. This would be each store that has a Deli Kiosk terminal.

Executing the last step of the wizard creates Package Definition and Delivery Instructions files for the e-Manager software.

DUMAC's e-Manager Sends the Package

Back to Top of Page

Once your step-by-step process at the CorpPOS level is complete, DUMAC's e-Manager software, which is constantly checking its database, is launched at the on-time-only or time-interval basis and looks at these newly created files and creates a Package to be sent out to the terminals.

E-Manager creates a Package by reviewing all files associated with the Delivery's instructions and compresses them into a single "zipped" file which is then attached to the message.

Unpacking instructions are written to the body of the message and e-Manager sends the message to the recipients listed in the Delivery instructions.

E-Manager is launched at the on-time-only or time-interval basis.

DUMAC's e-Manager software provides the ability to automate processes associated with the Package and acts as the conduit for your updates and messages being sent from CorpPOS to the Deli Kiosk terminals. A version of e-Manager is also located at each Deli Kiosk terminal... this is what enables the terminal to receive and process the updates being sent to it.

The moment the Package arrives at the kiosk terminal, e-Manager reads the unpacking instructions for the attachments.

The attachments are "unzipped" and placed in a predefined path. If needed, any applications that have been described in the unpacking instructions are then launched.

E-Manager and StorePOS at the Store Level

At the Deli Kiosk terminal level, software called StorePOS (sister-software to CorpPOS) is then launched and begins the update to the kiosk's database. Prices, layouts and graphics are updated. StorePOS then tells e-Manager to again launch and send out the confirmation of the update back to CorpPOS using the provided return-receipt e-mail address.

As well as acting as the conduit between CorpPOS and the kiosk terminals, e-Manager is also a full-fledged e-mail client by providing you direct access to your Inbox and Outbox and allows you to create traditional e-mail messages.

The familiar and easy-to-use interface is similar with other e-mail applications such as Microsoft® Outlook.®

E-Manager also provides several logging features to help keep track of every Package it receives and delivers. With the logging feature you can quickly determine when a Package was received and where it was stored.
